I used to visit your store back in the 70's when I was in my late teens and STILL have many items purchased form your first store. I treasure them and the memories of waiting in line for concert tickets. Recently, I was in CT visiting my parents and my Mom suggested we visit your store as she needed a piece of jewelry fixed and wanted to finally see the store I always talked about. She loved it. I had moved out to Florida 10 years ago and had never been to your current location. You were there as always waiting on and being so kind to your customers. My mom enjoyed your pictures on the door to the office as did I. I love the pictures you have on the website of the original store. Keep up the good work. I'm moving back north in a few years and will continue to shop at HARVEST. "What a long strange wonderful trip it's been for all of us.."

Dear Karen and Jerry,
When I've been in your shop, I have thanked you or whoever helped me at the time, but I thought a personal note was long overdue to thank you.
I have been a loyal customer for almost 35 years! I was there when your shop first opened and I took dance lessons at the church next door; and followed you on your move to your current location.
Last week I came own to purchase a gift for a 14 year old girl I didn't know very well. Unfortunately, my 22 year old daughter had to work. The sales girl was a doll and helped me pick out a Sterling Silver and Lapis Lazuli necklace, in my daughter's stead.
Harvest has always been my favorite "go to" place to find that perfect, always appropriate gift - either for someone I know well - or not. When I gout of my car last week and smelled that Harvest smell of incense, it was like walking into my mom's kitchen and smelling her spaghetti sauce.
You and the people who work for you are always pleasant, courteous and helpful. The selection of goods is always fantastic and you have a number of items to choose from. I use beads and baubles from Harvest on various quilts and other art projects, and am always pleased.
So thank you both for maintaining a wonderful atmosphere in a terrific place to shop. The relaxed attitude of the store always makes me take a deep breath and reminds me to just enjoy my shopping experience - and I have for many, many years.
I'm sorry it's taken so long to put my thanks in writing. I am one, especially satisfied, grateful customer, among many I am sure who feel like me.

Hi Jerry and Karen,
I hate to admit that this is the first time I have visted your website. I live in Manchester, so whenever I need a meaningful gift I always go to your store. I don't come in too often, because I always find so many things I want to buy and usually do! I have to tell you that I purchased a beautiful Carnelian and silver necklace for a friend. I just happened to ask Karen about Carnelian jewelry, and they had just finished making one that was spectacular! My friend was so happy with her gift she was brought to tears!
I know I will be in to do some Christmas shopping. The website is great!

Keep on going! You have the best shop in town!

Hey, You probably deal with a ton of people every day- I went into your store yesterday and we talked about water flows, and good areas to go to in Manchester, and the weather. You gave me some incense- and one is lit right now, and it smells marvelous. I'll definitely be in some time soon to get some more! I wanted to say thanks again for them. Hey Jerry, how are you? Nice to see you on line. I was and am (when I am in town) an avid fan of Harvest and have passed the legacy on to my daughters (who still live there). I know you have a broad array of items to choose from, but it would be nice to see more of your collection on line. I have friends here who love the jewelry I buy from you so much, they give me an idea of what they want and a pocket full of money and I always find the perfect gift at your store. I have yet to hear someone was not happy with what I have found for them at your store. They love you down here! Sure, we have a small shop here, but it pales in comparison to you and I have yet to make a purchase there. NO KIDDING! So please do your best to get that web site "tweaked" and get more of that outrageous stuff on line. (It would also be a great help if you got your credit card thing going too!) You're store is truly one of the few things I miss up there.

Hi Karen,

Now you know it... you made my day today! I was surfing the internet today trying to find some last-minute gifts for my 18-year-old daughter.

I tried to think...what does she like? Jewelry.

Who has the most beautiful jewelry? Harvest.

Where were most of my rings, necklaces, and bracelets purchased? Harvest.

Therefore, I checked to see if Harvest had a website and to my surprise I found it. It was like seeing an old friend from way back when. It brought an immediate smile to my face!

A Little Bit of History: I grew up in Manchester and took a road trip with my best friend in 1979. I met my current husband in Southern California and never made it back. I have now lived in So. Cal. for 27 years. Over all of these years, I have never forgotten about Harvest and still shop there when I visit my family (my mother still lives on Oak Street). I try to make it back about every 3-4 years. I have many happy memories as a teenager visiting your original store on Main Street. I just loved seeing the old photos on your website. I had a pair of earrings that I purchased there probably in 1974. I was heartbroken when I lost one but made the remaining earring into a beautiful necklace which I still enjoy. My best friend (from the road trip) now lives in Bolton and often sends me birthday gifts from Harvest. I always love them.

This e-mail is much too lengthy, but my point is this.... Thank you for remaining true to your original concept of beautiful handmade jewelry, beads, and scents with a family atmosphere. You have never compromised your style or originality, and your staff always treats everyone like family. Your merchandise is original as well as lovely and lasts a lifetime. I love visiting your shop when I visit family in Manchester and can't wait until I can order online. Hope to visit again in summer 2007.

thanks again for your help this afternoon in constructing the bail for the crystal. also thank you for your time and patience. i have always had a great experience with whoever i come in contact with when i enter the doors of your store.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Makes 50 cookies...

Sift Together:
2 1/2 Cups Sifted Flour (1/2 Whole Wheat)
1 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

Cream Together:
1 Cup Vegitable Oil
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Sugar

Add:
2 Beaten Eggs
2 Teaspoon Vanilla

Mix dry ingredients, last add 2 cups chocolate bits - also, nuts can be added.
Let batter set until it thickens - about 15 minutes. May need to sprinkle a bit more whole wheat flour.

Grease pans lightly. Roll into balls (grease hands well to roll). Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
